Church Vision Journey

“Where there is no vision the people perish” (KJV).

We are now entering what is being called the “Post COVID” period and things can be started anew.

ALL are invited. If you attend First UMC, you are invited to be a part of discerning the future of our congregation and church.

As your pastor may I ask you to…

  • Pray mightily for our church and its future, starting now.

  • Mark your calendar and plan to attend congregation vision meetings.

  • Encourage others to attend congregation vision meetings.

  • Consider what role you will take in this new post-COVID period in the life and ministry of this church.

Where is the future of FMC Marble Falls?

We are seeking God's inspiration to overcome obstacles, persevere, and succeed in our mission to love God, share God's love, and make disciples.

Thanks for submitting!
Vision Meeting #1

On Sunday, June 27, 2021, we began our current vision journey by having our first congregational visioning session to ask God to guide us and show us what he calls us to. We gathered to prayerfully dream dreams and cast visions for the future of First Methodist Church here in Marble Falls.

We tossed out ideas for growing in our mission and ministries and they landed into about nine different categories. We then had all in attendance vote on the top 5 items they thought should be a focus of the church as we move into the future.

Here are those results:

Vision Meeting #2

On Sunday, August 29, 2021, we had our second church-wide vision meeting. As a church, we are seeking God’s vision for how to be His hands and feet to our church family, our community, and the world beyond. As we’ve prayed for His guidance to show us where we need to focus during our next steps, these are the four priority areas we believe God has uniquely equipped and called our church congregation to for this season: Welcoming & Connection, Missions & Community Outreach, Children & Youth, and Worship Services & Spiritual Growth.

We separated into groups to specifically discuss ideas and next steps for these ministry areas. Groups were encouraged to share contact information to provide accountability for those next steps and to get together again to continue the actions and ideas brought up in this meeting and beyond. If you would still like to get connected to these groups moving forward, see the contact information below.
